WEBQUEST: New Deal ProjectAssignment: The year is 1933. The United States is going through the worst period of the Great Depression. You and your group members are part of FDR’s marketing department in Washington DC. As you have learned, FDR created a NEW DEAL with the American people when he was elected in 1932. This consisted of programs, organizations, and policies all with the purpose to restore the nation’s hope. FDR is counting on your department to come up with a marketing campaign for one of these New Deal programs. ** What can you say or show the American public that will get them excited and want to take part in your New Deal program? ** Your group will be responsible for putting together a 3-minute television commercial touting your New Deal program. You are trying to get the American public to believe in your program during the Great Depression. Additionally, your group will put together an advertisement poster for your New Deal program utilizing at least two propaganda strategies. This poster can be used as a magazine advertisement, a poster in stores, or a billboard on the new federal highway. After your commercial there will be a question and answer (Q&A) period.
