Training and Professional Development
1.
How can I learn more about using computers in the classroom?
There are several ways we support teacher professional development:
- Classroom/ library based - You can arrange to work with the library technology teacher(LTT) and co-create technology oriented lessons to use with students. Your LTT will support the lesson directly with students in the library or in your classroom. Soon our team Help Desk students will be available to help you too.
- After school - The LTT offers a spring and fall after school professional development with UCSC extension units available. Click here to see an example.
- Online with LTT support - We have purchased an Apple Professional Development Online subscription. This includes access to NetTrecker, Atomic Learning, a full professional development library, and online classes for all iApps. See the LTT for more information.
- Individualized instruction - If you'd like some one-on-one instruction, contact the LTT and make an appointment during your prep or after school. An independent study program through UCSC for credit is also available. Soon our team Help Desk students will be available to help you too.
2. Can students get training?
Yes! Soon our team Help Desk students will be available to help students. Students can come after school to the library and seek help from the LTT. Students are also encouraged to sign up for computer applications in the ROP, business or art department.
