Fremont High Students of the Month

September

Julie Matsumoto, 11

Julie enters the physiology class with a hue smile, eager and excited about learning.  She stays focused and absorbs every fine detail of the lesson.  Her friendliness, dedication and excitement for learning are admirable.  (D. Kumar, teacher)

Ubaldo Murillo, 12

Ubaldo is a great biology student.  He works hard in class and out to turn in work that he is proud of.  He has done a great job as a leader, showing his classmates what a strong work ethic is and helping them when they need assistance.  (M. Wagner, teacher)

October

Laurena Rebelo, 12

As a 12th grader, we have seen her grow over the last four years.  She has an amazing capacity to help others.  Always one to help or ask where she can get involved, Laurena is a natural leader and a fit for our “Best Buddies” program.  She has successfully held down jobs and received good grades.  Currently, she has a 3.14 GPA.  Laurena has to work hard and be persistent about her class work and it all pays off.  She has mentored many underclassmen and is great at encouraging others to give their best as she does.  (Special Education Staff)

Manuel Segura, 11

He has 100% homework complete for all of his classes.  He maintains A and B grades.  He is looking for a job now that he has finished his summer employment at Great America.  Manuel embodies the qualities of a great student and employee – on time, completes tasks, and takes initiative.  These qualities have rewarded him with a supervisor position at Great America and he has a 3.67 GPA for the first grading period and a 2.67 overall.  Although Manuel has to work extremely hard to compensate for his learning difficulties, he faces his challenges with enthusiasm and persistence.  He is an example for his peers and we are very proud of his progress.  (Special Education Staff)

November

Marie Gage

She is a bubbly young lady who has developed a very mature attitude for someone who is only a freshman.  She is perhaps our best runner in class and routinely challenges the boys for the fastest times.  She enjoys challenging herself with new activities and does a great job of striving to do her best.  (Jason Townsend – PE teacher)

Joseph Vasquez

He showed great improvement and determination on the varsity football team as a freshman.  He is also an excellent leader and great example in my PE class.  The other students look up to him and he, time and time again, does the right thing.  (Aaron Eeg – PE teacher)

She is always helping others, involved in student projects, has an A in my class, and has never been upset, angry or otherwise cross. I always look forward to her input in class as it is objective, and knowledgeable. She always is the first to ask a question. It is a pleasure to have her in my class. (D. Vogen – Social Studies Department)

Wilson Mai, 11

Wilson is a very dedicated and hard working student who helps out his classmates and sets a high standard for success.  Wilson also brings his sense of humor to class. (K. Nethers – Social Studies Department)

Gregory Marciano, 9

Greg has shown a great deal of interest and aptitude in algebra since semester 2 started.  He has seen how hard work pays off.  Also, asking questions and being involved in class has helped him learn some difficult math like solving systems of linear equations.  He has been integral in helping out his fellow classmates.  I’m proud of his achievements.  (Maria Blasko – Math)

Jamal Pugh

Jamal is a consistently excellent student in the Geometry classroom.  What sets Jamal apart is his willingness and eagerness to share his ideas and ass questions.  Additionally, as a group member, he can be counted on to patiently help any student with the content.  Basically, he rocks.  (David Heinke and Adrienne Philippe – Math)
