Fremont, Homestead and Monta Vista High Schools collaborated to perform Cabaret. Under the direction of Fremont teachers Elise Nahum and Tim Shannon, the actors learned about Germany in the early 1930’s, a time of looking for hope.
The Cabaret was an oasis where laughter and love flourished and people could “leave their troubles behind.” It was a time of decadence, decay and social experimentation. As a guest speaker told the cast, much of Europe – especially Germany – had “lost their moral compass.”
