Camp Everytown and Common Ground

Can 200 students who attended Camp Everytown or Common Ground impact a school? “Yes, these students can impact a school in a dramatically positive way. They become leaders not just on campus, but in the community,” according to Fremont principal, Peggy Raun-Linde.

Camp Everytown and Common Ground, held before the start of school, are programs organized by the SVCCJ (Silicon Valley Conference for Community and Justice) in conjunction with Fremont. These human relations programs are dedicated to fighting bias, bigotry and racism.

Fremont has participated in Camp Everytown since 1996 providing experiences for over 2000 students. Bob Grover, AP, shared that “students are selected as representatives of all aspects of the campus. The students feel that Camp Everytown was a life-changing experience and are ready to share what they have learned. The students have become missionaries for a healthy respect and appreciation for the diversity of our student body; their enthusiasm and commitment are contagious,” says Bob Grover.
