Thursday, June 12, 2008, Fremont High School held its 82nd Commencement exercises. This ceremony for the graduating seniors was a wonderful rite of passage as the students move on to the next stage of their lives --- college, technical school or the world of work |

The Fremont High School Baccalaureate was held on June 11, 2008. The serene setting at the Los Altos Methodist Church provided an opportunity for the graduating seniors to reflect on their high school years. |

The Senior Awards night culminated with the Spirit of Fremont Awards honoring Faustino and Manuela Rodriguez, was held on Monday, June 9, 2008. |

The Frisbee Tournament is an annual event that is a fun culmination of months of intense preparation for the AP Government exam. Each AP Government class created a team with a name, team color and spectacular design for their t-shirts. |

An evening of magnificent music and scrumptitious food was the heart of the last choir concert of the school year. The choir used this gathering to recognize outstanding music students, to give thanks and to say goodbye. Jazz ensemble also contributed their musical and entertaining talents. |

Senior Ball: Evening in Paris! The Eiffel Tower and ‘the bright lights of Paris’ greeted the Class of 2008 to their Senior Ball, held at the Los Gatos Opera House on May 16, 2008. |

Red and White Awards Ceremony! The Red and White Awards Ceremony was held on May 15. This annual event recognizes outstanding students in each of the departments. These students are helpful, kind-hearted and are a joy to have in the classrooms. |

Urinetown is a tale of love, greed, and revolution. The show is set in a town plagued by an unending drought where private bathrooms are outlawed. Everyone must pay the towering taxes and fines to use the public latrines to carry out their most private and basic needs. |

In a mere 48 hours, a group of students produced a film. To achieve this product, each group: Wrote the script, Rehearsed, Designed sound, Designed costume and set, Filmed and Edited. |

International Week is full of Pride at Fremont! During these festivities, Fremont showcases its 60 cultures and languages through music, performances, clothing and food. |

Junior Prom: A Night to Treasure! April 5 was a beautiful evening for the Fremont Junior Prom! A Night to Treasure was the theme selected that fit the Tarragon’s décor. The Class of 2009 Cabinet, Nishit Sitapara, Amy Chwa, Brittany Van Schravendijk and Deanne Campos, began their prom conversation at the beginning of the school year. |

Aleya Cunningham, Activities Commissioner, created a high-spirited and refreshing rally on March 21, 2008. With a theme of St. Patrick’s Day and plenty of spring green and a leprechaun, the rally was a fun break from the doldrums of the winter cold. |

Truffaldino, a servant, who finds himself in a precarious predicament in which he has two masters! To satisfy his empty stomach and insatiable appetite, he serves two masters to double his wages and, consequently, double his meals. |

The annual Fremont Talent Show on February 29, 2008 had a record number of quality performers. The announcing team of Susan Lee and Vana Christos added charm to the event. |

Plaid shirts and straw hats were some of the clothing students wore to the Sadie Hawkins Dance. This dance, an American folk event, is traditionally a girl-ask-boy dance. As much as possible, the students carried out the theme that also included a Marryin’ Sam with marriage certificates and wedding rings. |

Approximately 80 students were honored on January 30, 2008 for excellence in their classrooms. The students were nominated by their teachers and represented 6 categories. The Recognition Luncheon provided an opportunity to share a meal and experience a feeling of community. |

Romeo and Juliet are teenagers who fall deeply in love but their families are bitter enemies. They seize the moment and marry in secret. They make every effort to conceal their actions but these end in tragedy when Romeo, Juliet, Tybalt, Mercutio and Paris all die. |

On January 17, 2008 Allister DeVera and Evangeline Vargas were crowned king and queen of the Winter Formal amidst the cheering of the crowd. Traditionally, the voting occurs at the dance as the students check-in. |

The Dodgeball game was a friendly competition among the staffs of the 5 high schools. There was a constant roar as the audience cheered for their home school teams. The January 17th event coincided with Fremont’s Winter Formal and many wore their formal attire to the game. |

Scrumptious foods were available at the annual Tastes of the World on December 14, 2007. Students and staff were in the mood for this cultural event and participated by wearing cultural clothes or tasting the foods. International music filled the air and added to the festive feeling. |

Winter Rally! Planned by B-Day activities commissioners, Rachel Chan and Sonja Cook, on December 7, 2007. Recognition was the emphasis for the Winter Rally. With a winter-themed backdrop, various groups were showcased throughout the rally. |

FHS IDC! December 7, 2007, the Fremont IDC representatives, Susan Lee and Ashok Krishna, were well-organized and ready to share the real Fremont! |

Blood Drive! Fremont has successfully completed another blood drive for the Stanford Blood Center on November 19. The event was organized by the ASB Leadership classes under the direction of Jazmin Perez and Ashley Novosad, students. |

College Faire! Fremont had its first College Faire in November. Six teachers, Dan Amezquita, Jireh Lee, Kristin Nethers, Mike Smith, Bobby Soto, and Eric Wong organized the event. A major goal was to expose the students to colleges, universities and other programs --- the next step after high school. |

Fall Drama Play: Imaginary Invalid! November 8 – 10, 2007, the Drama Department showed off their talents by performing Imaginary Invalid. The play was directed by student Lyssa Samuel and staged by the many talented actors and technicians who were all needed for such a spectacular production. |

Club Day! Organized by A-day club commissioners Rachel Selincourt and Shirin Ahmed on September 27th. More than 40 clubs participating in this fun-filled event, the amphitheater was packed with spirit and excitement. |

25th Anniversary of the Watermelon Run! The race began with the principal’s starting pistol and lively race music provided by the band. There were 284 competitors with the winner cruising in at 11:20. |

Back-to-School Rally! The A Day activities commissioners, Aleya Cunningham and John Diaz, planned the first rally. To introduce new and returning students to the Cheer and Featherette dance teams, the Band, Fall athletes and new Teachers. |

The 500 students of the Class of 2011 began their high school career in late August and immediately surrounded themselves with the traditions that are unique to Fremont. |
|
 |
Camp Everytown and Common Ground Held before the start of school, are programs organized by the Silicon Valley Conference for Community and Justice in conjunction with Fremont. These human relations programs are dedicated to fighting bias, bigotry and racism. |
