Brad Metheany Brad Metheany (1984 - 1990)

Biography
Brad Metheany replaced Art Chaboya in 1984 and enjoyed the most success as Fremont coach since Gerald Ferguson’s retirement. Metheany’s teams shared parts of two league titles with Los Gatos in 1988 and 1990, and made four trips to the Central Coast Section playoffs. The 1988 team, won 10 games, still a school record, and defeated Branham in a 3A playoff game for Fremont’s only CCS playoff victory. The 1990 Fremont Indians racked up the most points in school history, and rattled off the school’s longest winning streak by crushing eight opponents in a row. Only a Hail Mary pass by Los Gatos with no time on the clock prevented Metheany’s Indians from an unprecedented three straight league titles. After leaving Fremont after the 1990 season, Metheany coached at Monta Vista High School, and is currently an assistant principal at the school.
