Brian Szady (1991)

Biography

In the 1990 and 1991 seasons, Fremont received outstanding efforts from single-season starting quarterbacks. In 1990, it was Brian Szady. Szady was slated to start his junior season but suffered a broken leg during double days in August, and thus Szady missed the entire year. As a senior, Szady engineered the most prolific offense in school history, one that averaged almost 350 yards a game. Szady had a variety of quality receivers to choose from, but distributed most of his completions to two athletes: split end Jason Simontacchi (6 touchdowns and 34 receptions), and tight end Ron Jensen (21.1 yards a catch). Brian played his collegiate ball at the University of Nevada-Reno.
