Jason Simontacchi (1992) - Split End
Biography Jason Simontacchi’s three years as a varsity football player saw him destroy the school receiving record book. Simontacchi’s 86 receptions. 1,452 receiving yards, and 17 touchdown passes are career standards that may hold up for many years. Making his mark as receiver was not Jason’s only contribution on the field; a talented two way player, Simontacchi also set single game and season marks for interceptions, and for the longest field goal in school history, a 43 yarder versus Lynbrook. In 1991, Simontacchi was named 1st Team All-CCS wide receiver by the Mercury News and Honorable Mention All State by Cal-Hi Sports Magazine. Simontacchi pitched the 2002 and 2003 seasons as a member of the Saint Louis Cardinals, and was a 2000 Olympic athlete for Italy in the Sydney Olympic Games.
